Las Vegas Without a Car: A Full 3-Day Itinerary

The transport reality

The Las Vegas Monorail runs the east side of the Strip from SAHARA to MGM Grand with seven stations — a 3-day pass is $32 and it is the fastest way from north to south Strip. The Deuce bus runs the actual Strip corridor and connects to Downtown, $8 for 24 hours. Rideshare from the airport to Center Strip is $18-28. Between the Strip and Downtown, $18-25. Inside Center Strip, walking or the monorail beats rideshare — surface traffic is punishing between 3pm and 9pm.

Days 1-2: Strip and Downtown by transit

Day 1: monorail day pass. Ride to SAHARA, walk south through Wynn and the Venetian to Harrah's/LINQ station. High Roller, then monorail to Bally's/Paris for Bellagio and Aria. Monorail to MGM Grand for dinner. Day 2: Deuce bus north to Fremont Street ($8 24-hour pass). Spend 2pm to 10pm Downtown — Fremont Experience, Neon Museum (rideshare 8 minutes from Fremont, no bus), Mob Museum, dinner at Carson Kitchen. Deuce bus back to the Strip.

Day 3: Red Rock without a rental

Take a small-group tour to Red Rock Canyon — Pink Adventure Tours and several others run half-day trips from Strip hotels for $85-110 including hotel pickup. This is cheaper than a one-day rental once you add insurance and parking. Back on the Strip by 1pm. Afternoon pool, then dinner and a show. Sleep at any hotel with a monorail stop: MGM Grand, Bally's/Horseshoe, Flamingo, LINQ, Harrah's, Westgate, or SAHARA. Bally's/Horseshoe is the best value in this list.
